Hi Everybody,
My name is Daniel Gimeno, I am a new member at development team at the SGTI (General Sub-direction of Information Technologies) in the Health Ministry In Spain. My supervisor at the Ministry is Alfredo Esteban which is an old member of this group and will be the person that assign and review my tasks. This Ministry uses Limesurvey to collect information between different organisms and Autonomous Communities among others.
My formation is Computer Engineer at the UPM, Politecnical University of Madrid, I have about 10 years of work experience of developing on the web paradigm, I think I have develop in almost all languages that are focused to the web. But I could say I began web developing from 1994, when I started my first web, with HTML 1.0 and no graphical interfaces with Lynx in a academical user-friendly environment. Right now my main language is PHP, which I've been using since from 3.0 version. In addition to this language I have used ASP, Perl, JavaScript+Jquery, Css for the web and Java, C++ and Delphi for desk environment
My profile is aimed to be Full Stack, from back to from as a Web Analyst Programmer. My tasks use to be from designing Relation Entity Diagram, scripts to create and populate database, study Use Cases and sometimes develop with TDD (Test Driven Develop) performing a platform to test our code. In some cases our goal was to get near a 100% of logic coverage.
At the front side, my task were intended to construct layout, apply CSS and give JavaScript logic, native or with Jquery, to process any Ajax operation or dynamic operations. But I have to say that my profile has been turning more back developer.
I think that PHP it's a powerful language, with a very fast and easy 'learning curve', always you can find a method or a class you need but this feature can guide you to develop poor and low quality code. I'm interested in Pattern Design as a way to conduct to a good development Practices. Following with this I think it's very important when a big project is being built to use framework to grow up and scale with out problems. I have recently used Symfony2x and Zend Framework, these frameworks guarantee to grow in a painless way.
I'm happy to join this project, I'm in love of Open Source philosophy and Linux world. This is my very first input in a project like this but I'll try to do my best, ;^).
Your sincerely,
Daniel Gimeno.
